🎃 October 2025 Release Notes

October was a huge month for Iris. We shipped major frontend and infrastructure upgrades, rolled out full DOCX project support, fixed high‑scale user issues, and delivered dozens of workflow, performance, and reliability improvements across the app.

🚀 Big Highlights

End‑to‑end DOCX project support

You can now upload, process, review, and export DOCX files just like PDFs. DOCX projects support outline review, question handling, and export directly in Iris.

Frontend & API modernization

We completed a major React‑based frontend upgrade and strengthened API layers across projects, reporting, filters, and search. This unlocks better performance, cleaner UX, and safer scaling for large teams and datasets.

Performance at scale (100+ users)

Multiple fixes ensure Iris works smoothly for large organizations—from user dropdowns and revision history to assignments and project details.

📄 Projects & Document Processing

DOCX support

  • DOCX uploads enabled in project creation, with improved validation and clear upload feedback

  • DOCX files follow the same processing flow as PDFs

  • Export templates disabled for DOCX projects to prevent formatting issues (export back to original DOCX file set to be released in February of 2026).

PDF & spreadsheet improvements

  • PDF AI Parse sections now retain their original sequential order

  • Expandable question text field in the PDF Staging Area

  • Auto‑annotate immediately marks up spreadsheets

  • Auto‑annotate now merges cleanly with manual edits

  • Added missing CSV auto‑annotate support

  • CSV exports now preserve dropdown values

🔍 Search, Filters & Navigation

  • Infinite‑scroll search filters added for Tags and Owners

  • Improved active filter labeling and owner chips

  • Refactored user selection components across modals and forms

  • New Select All Filtered bulk action in Project Review

  • Search improvements across Project Outline and Project Details

✍ Question & Answer Generation

  • Question generation now always follows the correct sequential order

  • Regeneration now selects all citations by default (deselect to exclude)

  • Line breaks show up more cleanly when asked for in custom instructions or generated by Iris

  • Fixed generation counter getting stuck in “still generating”

  • Improved error messaging when generation fails

🧠 Ask Iris & Knowledge Map

  • Bulk add/remove tags across multiple Knowledge Map files

  • Bulk add/remove expiration dates across multiple Knowledge Map files

  • Ask Iris confidence scores added to studio.heyiris.ai

  • Sources now clearly show when content is expired or deleted

  • Improved Ask Iris defaults and copy updates

  • Long Knowledge Map filenames now wrap cleanly

  • File name tooltips show the full file name on hover

  • Safer tag selection behavior across uploads and dialogs

🏷 Tags & Project Configuration

  • Protected system tags (like Approved Answers) can no longer be deleted

  • Protected tags allow default‑status edits but lock titles and descriptions

  • Improved tag ordering and infinite queries

  • Default tags reliably apply to new projects again

👥 Users, Roles & Assignments

  • Fixed revision history showing user IDs instead of names

  • User dropdowns now paginate correctly for large orgs

  • Project Details user lists load reliably for 100+ users

  • Inactive user status now stays in sync across versions

  • System default roles can no longer be edited

  • Roles & Groups redesigned into clearer table layouts

  • New assignee selector with better bulk assignment handling

  • Notifications now send for individual question assignments

🔔 Notifications

  • Notification email stacking for multiple @mentions

  • Reliability enhancements for Assignment notifications and @mentions

📊 Reporting & Formatting

  • Reports now support multi‑select status filters

  • Currency and time formatting standardized

  • Fixed deal value formatting and comma separators

  • Table spacing, headings, and placeholders polished

🔐 Authentication & Security

  • Admins can reset other users’ passwords but can no longer change their own role.

🔌 Integrations

  • Seismic connection bug resolved

  • Unsupported file types blocked during Seismic uploads

  • Large template uploads now bypass file size limits safely

  • Extensive Microsoft Teams integration debugging and fixes

🎨 UI Polish & Quality of Life

  • Profile page redesign

  • Browser alerts replaced with consistent in‑app dialogs

  • Clear Selection button added to Staging Area

  • "Are you sure?" modal added after Clear All Selection

  • Password hints support

  • Improved spacing, labels, and consistency throughout the app
